[Once he gets over the initial discomfort over the tofu, he does appreciate that he's winded up with some curry. Perhaps it's a bit of his luck in play? But he does ask Kirigiri if he can borrow her messenger bird later to send off a thank-you note:]

I'm very grateful for the present you sent me! I'm writing this before I've had a chance to try it, but I thought you should know that curry is my favorite food, so I'm very happy that's what you got for me.
