[Naegi immediately stops what he's doing the moment his sister's voice echoes in his head.]

You sound upset, are you okay? [A jolt of panic goes through him. It isn't Enoshima-san, is it?] Nobody hurt you, did they?

[Even with his pitiful size, he'll make them pay if they did.]

...Was I that obvious? I guess there's no hiding anything from you.

[ She can't help but feel deflated, giving a little sigh. ]

No, nobody hurt me. It's just...well...I wanted to ask you something. Onii-chan...do you think I'm useful?

[ It's a sudden question, but it's one that's niggling at her mind. ]

[His mouth parts in surprise at the question. Oh, Komaru. But he needs to deal with something else she said first.]

Of course you can't hide something like that from me. I know you too well for that. [He shakes his head, even if she can't see it.] I'd be a bad brother if I couldn't tell.

What's all this, though? [Komaru will probably be able to hear the smile in his voice.] Of course you're useful. You've done so much here and back home... I'm amazed just thinking about it! You've done a lot. Never feel like you haven't.

[Naegi is staring too intently at his crystal, so he doesn't see the air shimmering softly around him. A stray thought slips out before Naegi can pull it back, and he's flustered immediately because Komaru will hear it.]

I'm so proud of you.

[ For a long while, she's silent...or at least that's what it seems like. If Naegi listens closely, he can hear quiet sobs on Komaru's end as the sincerity of her brother's words move her to tears. Normally, she would just brush off anyone who told her that with an embarrassed laugh and a modest "No, not really," but hearing it from her brother is completely different. It means more to hear it from her brother - someone who accomplished a lot more than she ever has, someone who was revered as the Ultimate Hope, the one who defeated the mastermind. There's more monikers associated with her brother than there ever would be for her, so to hear her brother tell her how proud he is of her and that she's accomplished a lot...she can't help but cry.

...She swears she'll say something later, she just has to get herself together first. ]

[ She chokes out in between sobs. Well, he did make her cry...but in a good way, she swears! ]

[Naegi wonders if he should go over to her place. If he were there, he'd offer her a shoulder to lean on at the least.]

I'm sorry it made you cry, but I don't regret it. I was more worried it would embarrass you, but I'd say it over and over again if I could. It'll never, ever change.

[He pauses, considering. Then decides to say it.]

...But I'll say it again, out loud at least. I'm really, really proud of you.

[ Her crying has quieted down some, but she hasn't exactly stopped just yet. ]

Like, really really? ...You're not just saying that to make me feel better?
